DataShield Privacy Statement
DataShield performs file encryption, decryption, and PassVault operations locally on your device.
Application data
- Your files are processed on your computer.
- PassVault information is stored in encrypted vault files that you control.
- Encryption passphrases and keys are not uploaded by DataShield to a cloud service.
- DataShield does not require a DataShield account to encrypt files or use PassVault.
Store purchases and licensing
Downloads, purchases, and platform licensing are handled through the Microsoft Store or Apple App Store. Those services may process account, payment, and transaction information according to their own privacy policies. DataShield does not receive your payment-card details.
This website
The current DataShield website is a static informational site. This build contains no account-registration form, advertising tracker, or analytics script. Links to Microsoft and Apple stores take you to those external services, where their respective privacy policies apply.
Important security note
DataShield cannot recover an encryption passphrase that you forget. Keep important passphrases securely recorded, and use PassVault or another secure method appropriate to your needs.
